Bart Cason

Bart has been a percussionist for over 20 years and brings a wealth and variety of rhythmic influences to Dulahan’s music, which help stretch the boundaries of their original sound.  His first exposure to Celtic music was playing the djembe in the mid 1990’s as he began to incorporate non-traditional rhythms and instrumentation into his sound. From 1999 to 2002 Bart was active in the local Reggae and Folk music scene in the Hawthorn District in Portland Oregon. From 2003 to 2007 Bart served in the U.S. Navy. After leaving the Navy he moved back to Ohio and became actively involved in the Celtic music scene in Dayton and Columbus.

In late 2009 Bart played some informal shows with members of Dulahan and during early and mid 2010 his performances with the band became much more regular. In late 2010 Bart officially joined Dulahan full time and his signature percussion work has become an integral part of the Dulahan sound. Bart, like the rest of the band, loves to sing and adds his vocal contributions throughout the course of a Dulahan performance.

Bart has been happily married to Jennifer Cason for 7 years and they have 3 lovely daughters.
