Dylan first performed with Dulahan in the studio, playing the driving cajone rhythm on the song Edinbro Barn Dance on the band’s Mist of the Irish Sky album in 2009. In 2010 Dylan appeared on the Live at Bainbridge album as well. He regularly joined the boys at live performances for years, adding his driving hand percussion skills on the djembe, bongos and other percussion. An accomplished kit drummer, he was a member of the bands Parson Hooper, Fillmore North and was a founding member of Electric Orange Peel, a Columbus, Ohio based progressive rock band. An accomplished guitarist, Dylan played the classical guitar solo on the song “Find a Way” on Dulahan’s 88 Years album. In the spring of 2021 he joined Dulahan full time in the unique role of Lead Guitarist/Percussionist. His tasteful lead guitar work is now a key part of Dulahan’s ever evolving sound and his soaring solos are a perfect complement to Leo’s Highland Pipe work and have become a highlight of Dulahan’s live performances. Dylan also contributes to the band’s harmonies with background vocals, having grown up in a household emersed in Dulahan music. Like his father, Dylan is a songwriter, and wrote the majority of the songs on Electric Orange Peel’s first album. Although his guitar work has become the major focus of his work with Dulahan, his love of percussion has never wavered and his hand drumming adds key energy to a variety of Dulahan favorites in their live shows. On two separate occasions Dylan has been invited on stage to perform on hand drums with Celtic powerhouse band Gaelic Storm.
