Dulahan (Doo-la-hon) is a four member Irish-American band featuring powerful 3- and 4-part vocal harmony accompanied by a variety of traditional acoustic Celtic instrumentation.  With each member of the group playing multiple instruments and singing, Dulahan reenergizes the old classics and simultaneously brands their own original sound. This fresh new sound pays homage to the classic artists of the genre while subtly incorporating contemporary vocal harmony arrangements in a unique hybrid sound. Dulahan connects with fans of traditional Celtic music along with listeners new to the energy, emotion and history of this music. 

While their original music remains the strength and core of the Dulahan sound, the band loves to mix in the classic pub favorites, sea shanties, ballads and a regular dose of the rousing rebel songs that are all an integral part of the Dulahan experience.

We've got a live one here!

Dulahan's first live CD -- LIVE AT BAINBRIDGE -- is scheduled for release in mid-July 2010.  The show was recorded live in February 2010 at Bainbridge Hall in Dayton, Ohio and features original songs from our previous studio CDs including Irish American Girls, Kilmainham Gaol and Scotch-Irish plus a rousing rendition of the traditional tune "Lime Juice Tub" which has become a favorite at the bands' performances in recent years.

LIVE AT BAINBRIDGE will eventually be available online at all the same outlets where the first four CDs can be found, but in the first couple weeks of release it will *only* be available at the bands' live shows, so come on out and get yours!

You'll find it first at the Dayton Celtic Festival the last weekend of July and at the Dublin Irish Festival the first weekend of August.  Check out our calendar for show times!  Come get a live dose of Dulahan and take home the new CD.

And in case you were wondering ...  

'The Dulahan' is the headless horseman of Celtic folklore, who carries his head under his arm as he rides through the night on his black stallion, spreading fear across the countryside.

'The Dulahan' will be a feature character in the new book being penned by John Ferguson, the band leader of the excellent northeast Ohio pub band "Fergie and the Bog Dogs."  Be sure to check out their site and we'll keep an eye out for the book's release!
